In pristine Shigang Township, Taichung, the Hakka people devote themselves to growing oranges but almost always suffer plunging prices in times of oversupply. To improve the orange farmers’ livelihood, Wu Li Biotechnologies Co., Ltd. used oranges to develop a series of eco-friendly products, which is in line with the government policy of promoting sophisticated agriculture and revamped industry. The predecessor of Wu Li Biotechnologies is the 70-year-old Donghua Camphor Plant, and Wu Li has been sticking to the ancient production process of distilling phytoncide and making other products. Constantly developing new products including handmade soaps and skincare goods, Wu Li has successfully achieved a corporate transformation in a supposedly declining industry.
